Satnav fault on Renault?

I have a Garmin Carminav satnav in built on my 2005 renault master van.
It has sudenly stoped working correctly. The position showing on the screen is miles away from my actual position. When i ask for directions to a location it tries to navigate but is totally wrong. The icon showing the satelite signal is red, I believe it should be showing green if picking up a signal. I have tried removing/replacing the disc but no help. Anyone got any ideas

My sat nav saying soft ware up dating but it has been saying this for a while

The powered aerial on the roof has failed. Water gets into the electronics which are in the base not inside the van. Only solution is new genuine aerial base at around £180. Have tried an ebay small block satnav aerial but it did not fix it. Cheapest solution is buy a satnav for £80 and ignore the old. You will also get free updates with this, not £107 for updated disc from Renault.

I have a 06 Laguna Initial.
This will fix it for a while at least. Go to the menu and choose Navigation. Then scroll down and choose adjust your current location. Then zoom out/in as required and move the cursor to where you are right now. Press select then rotate the knob until you are pointing in the correct direction along the road you are on now. Press select and it has reset. The more acurate you are, the longer it will last.
Why this happens, I don't know. But this fixes it temporarily. I reset every day or so.

I have a similar problem.....only my GPS is grey. mine too went in January, mine too is on the M! in Northampton.. just went suddenly. took it iut for a drive after christmas and it told me to find my own way home!

I have a laguna 05 plate I tried using the sat nav today it said everything as normal placed in the address etc but it said follow the arrow it was just the triangle one saying off road all the time, it wont come up with the road name or the black arrow, I did try it five time going and again later no change any ideas

I have a 2008 master van with the sat nav fitted from new the problem is that is on the passangers side of the dash board and not on the right as shown in the book the Renault pushed me to the dealer they have been trying to sort this for 18 months they now say they can't do any thing. I say it's a safety issue any body got any simlar experence, or a solution is there a place to contact in the uk that deals with car safety

have a renault minibus with built in sat nav, disc keeps going in and out and coming up on screen No disc , the odd time it will work is showing green sattelite as well , any ideas???????????

Laguna sports tourer Initial 2002. Map was at times 50 miles away from the car! Because I kept trying to reset the map & going into the "address" so many times, it has overloaded the "cpu", so the screen now locks up if I click on "address" [will go back to the RENAULT screen after five mins].The fault was the roof arieal.Left it in place & fitted a £6 one from a "hand held" sat nave [Ebay],magnet to the roof [6 Mtr. long lead to fit along side the roof one] & cut the existing wire at dvd rejoined [two wires]. Map is back, but no address info ! I think it requires the set up disc to reboot CPU.[ Not with the car must find one].

Same here (changed roof arial and put in new CD) any ideas how to lonk the new wires to the old....don't fancy setting off any of the wind bags!!

I HAD THIS PROBLEM RENAULT SOLVED IT BY CHANGING THE SAT NAV ARIEL ON THE ROOF. AND UPDATING DISC SOFWARE.

I have the same problem my dish is red and I have also used the engineer access code 4112 to work out the receiver is not working (little black arieal on the roof) I have just called Renault for quote to fit a new one - price not fitted (part only) is £80

Odd mine too went in January (Laguna 52 plate), seemed to know what direction I heading but always thought I was at Jct34 on the M1.

Has got much worse since then in that the screen has now gone blank. Have been putting off phoning Renault as I know it will cost lots for them to fix it.

I have exactly the same problem . ( mine also went the same around the start of jan ) i have phoned renault and they tell me that i need to bring in . They want 85.00 quid just to look at it before they even do anything . I have tried looking around but cannot seem to find anyone who repairs these. Did you manage to fix yours?
