Is my Nissan Micra 1995 M reg injection?

Hi -

I have a Nissan Micra LX 1300 and it failed its MOT (exhaust emissions carbon monoxide after 2nd fast idle excessive) - I'd like to know if it is injection or carburetto driven - and if it is possible/ necessary for me to change the cat? My brother says it is quite difficult - and I can easily blow the new cat anyway .. (if it was the cat re high emissions - another mechanic says it is not necessary to get a new catalytic converter - I need merely to adjust/ lower the petrol .. (my bro says I can't - it's injection) - What's the answer?

Hi Ray, it is definately fuel injection, the high emmisions are most likely the "CAT" but it could be the lambda or oxygen sensor,it signals the ecu for more or less fuel, as to fitting a "CAT" I'd leave it to a fast fit garage so much easier than grovelling around under the car with a hoist it will be done in half the time and you will have a guarantee
