Craftsman EZ3 6.0 horsepower mulcher lawnmower?

So, we were mowing long grass and my husband kept going even though the mower was having trouble. Then it stalled out and we have not been able to get it started again. I had an old mower years ago that had a safety that if you did that there was a reset button to push. I don't have the owners manual (and can't find one) to see if this model has one too. If it doesn't, what is most likely needing repair on this. Any suggestions on how to fix as inexpensively as possible? Thanks

there isn't any grass around it at all, I've already cleaned that out. I'm not sure if there are any Safety Interlock Switches or not, I don't even know what they would look like but I'll take a look. It's not a riding mower it's just a pusher so there is no seat issue. It stalled out several times and the last one it was pretty loud, so that's why I was thinking there would be damage somewhere. Thanks though.

Just a thought...remove as much grass as you can from beneath the cutter deck, check (engine off!) that the blades can revolve, and consider the safety interlock switches that will be around the machine - things like make sure its out of gear, cutter drive disconnected, sitting on the seat and whatever else the machine may have. Just because you stalled the thing it shouldn't necessarily mean there's been damage done.
