removal of rear drum from 2005 ford focus?

Other than removing the center hub nut. Is there another way to get the drum off. I was told there was a way to remove the drum by some bolts in the rear.

The official Ford way is to remove the 4 bolts from the back of the hub - this takes the whole unit away. However if you undo the hub central nut you'll achieve what you want but it leaves the stub axle in place. Make sure the locking washer tab is ok (fixed to the nut) if it comes off, buy a new nut.

Hi Frank, I've just double checked in the ford master manual and it does show removing the rear hub by undoing four bolts on the rear of the backplate assembly/torsion beam but first releasing the ABS lead if fitted the torque to tighten to on refit is 66 Nm but if you do remove the centre hub nut it requires a torque of 235 Nm
