Riello RDB Boiler - bleeding it after oil ran out?

Hi

I read some other posts and I think I get it but want to check one thing - the bleed valve is it approx 3 inches long, hexagonal in shape with a inset screw in the end which I suspect undoes with an allen key. Do I loosen that and hit the reset button until oil flows then tighten it and hopefully thats it?

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy,

Yes, you've got it. Just one thing, keep the valve open until you hear the burner start to ignite, then tighten. This is because oil starts to leave the valve before the boiler ignites. This helps to ensure the air has been purged and the burner has enough oil to start up properly.
