changing a belt on a dyson dc07?

How do you change a belt on a dyson dc07? I can't figure out how to remove the clutch without breaking it.

Hi if you want very affordable genuine dyson spare part a chap called john, I sell tested refurbished parts at a fraction of new parts, I got a hose and and a wand clip and delivered to me under a tenner. And it was spot on. 07772076513 he was really helpful also

how do i change the belt on my dyson

Just remember that although you have a DYSON DC07, that there are 15 different models of this, so it is important to correctly identify yours. Also whether the belt is directly driven from the motor spindle; or is it like ours an ALL FLOORS model that has a cutch( fancy name for the knob that activates the brush rotating,) or not. "Just Wondering" seems to have clearly laid out the method for any clutch models. eSPARES.CO.UK are still good for any parts to most items. No, I don't work for them, but have bought from them and fitted parts very easily.

Try going to eSpares.co.uk, and enter in details of make and model and they have videos by the staff showing you how to fix vitrually any part .

Beware!
The website given by chris(abaove)..http://www.dysonmanuals.lic.nu is nothing to do with Dyson and has no Dyson information on it.It is just another website that wants to be your home page so it can bombard you with ads.

what a rip off. If this stupid vacuum didn't clean so well I would tell them right where to stick thier "clutch assembly"

I have a dc07 and the brush and belt does not turn. The belt is not broken. What can I do?

Glyn, August 2008
Go to one of your local recycling centres they get loads of broken dysons in and I am positive that their belts will still be intact...

If its an all floors model, as mine is you need to remove the cover and brush, then remove the bottom hose. Unclip the plastic piece which the brush was in.
Then you see a black plastic cover where the belt either was or still is. this has three torx screws in (Tx15)two at the front one very deep at the rear.
once this is removed, My 'all floors' model has a knob for switching the brush on and off, prize this off with a screwdriver, then lever the clutch assembly up whilst pulling forward away from the machine, it's a tight fit but just pops out.
I have done this on mine as the clutch to brush belt has snapped, then I dissassembled the clutch itself and searched the net for a new belt, only to find that the belt isnt available on its own! Maybe Dyson feel we aren't capable of doing this procedure?
So as a result I now have to buy the whole clutch assembly with belt already on!
Instead of £3-£5 I now have to spend £16-£20 just for a belt!
Oh well Its a damn good Vacuum cleaner so I suppose I'll be paying it :-P
