how to check point on petrol strimmer?

I have an ECHO SRM200DB petrol strimmer.

The problem is it won't fire up. I get took the spark plug out and rested it on the side of the casing, tried cranking up but no spark. The plug looks fine, but on taking the rip cord cover off, I noticed that the points are behind the dynamo wheel, on attempting to take it off, I couldn't, do I need an extraction kit to release the wheel, or could the problem be else where. I noticed that it has a small on/off switch, with a lead that leads into the dynamo part of the engine, could this also effect the firing?

if the switch is okay then no it won't effect it, i got same problem, but i work with boat engines and a lot of them spark the same sort of way, try cleaning the point and condenser and try it, if this don't work order a new one or try it in a different strimmer
