My samsung u600 started turning itself off even if it was fully charged the only way I could get it to start again was to take the battery out and then put it back in. Now if the phone is turned off for any reason it goes back to factory defaults as if I'd just turned it on for the first time.

There is a small mercury-battery inside the phone, which probably needs changed.
