when to change timing belt on xsara 1999 1.4?

when do i change the timing belt on my citroen xsara 1.4 lx 1999.i have just bought this car.

hi,if you've just bought the car second hand,you get it replaced right away,you don't know what the past owner did and the belt could go at any time.better safe than sorry.

Hiya. The recommended time is 60 000 miles or 5 years due to it perishing. assuming it hasn't been changed yet, i reckon you should. I've been putting off changing mine.At 75k now, but putting it through the NCT ( Irish MOT ) first. Good Luck
