How is a single compressor with thermostats in both fridge & freezer wired?

I have an old (1984) Thorn EMI Electra fridge freezer model 39884/21, in which the single compressor finally packed up. A local second hand repair shop replaced the compressor, with a ZEM – R134A - GL 90 unit, but in doing so rewired the unit back incorrectly. My fridge freezer has an on/off switch and quick booster switch for the freezer. There is a thermostat in both compartments, a light and switch in the fridge compartment together with a heater on the cooling plate to defrost it when the temperature reaches the coldness setting. There are terminals attached to the ZEM R134A compressor where all the wires terminate. If the repair man had checked and marked the cables before removing them, he may not now have the problem in trying to resolve this matter now. When he brought the fridge freezer back, he asked that I do not plug it in for at least three hours for it to settle. When I did plug it in, I noticed the on/off switch did not work or green light was not on. When I opened the fridge door the light did not come on. The compressor started as soon as I plugged it in, but after a time noticed that the fridge cooling plate was icing up and the compressor did not turn off. From the information I have given above, are you able to give me a wiring diagram on how this fridge freezer was wired originally, so that I can reconnect it properly and get it working as it used to. The manufactures ceased trading in these units many years ago. I am requesting the information from you as the repairer it seems does not have a clue.

dont want to upset you but what gas has he put in this as r12 is not ment to be used and if he has used r134a then the temperature will be wrong within the system and maybe dangerous (only my opinion).
