My coolant light keeps coming on and I need to check the levels can anyone help ?

follow the small pipe from the top of the radiator to a clear container this will have screw top cap on the top. on the side of container will be 2 marks (min-max)WARNING remove cap ONLY when engine COLD top up level to just under MAX MARK recheck 24 hrs later
