timing belt?

if timing belt snaps on a ford fiesta with a cvh engine in does it damage the engine

it sure does, but the best way to find out if there is any damage is to put a new cambelt on & compression test each cyclinder this will let you know how many valve's approx you will need (ie.8 valve engine 1 cylinder no compression 2 valves approx) but you can find out how much damage done with cylinder head removed, i have known cambelt's to snap on cvh engine & cause no damage at all, it can damage the piston's as well? but not alway's hope this has sheds a little lighton your problem
