HOOVER AAA160?

HI THERE, LAST WEEK MY WASHING MACHIE'S PUMP WAS GONE SO I REPLACED IT WITH AN ORIGINAL PART AND NOW WHEN I SWITCH ON THE WASHING MACHINE. THE SCREEN SAYS WELCOME AND THEN IT GETS STUCK ON "CONTINUING PROGRAMME" AND NOTHING HAPPENS. I CANNOT START THE WASHING. ANY IDEAS ON WHAT THE PROBLEM IS? ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

hello people. i tried turning off the circuit breaker, checked the pressure switch, any blockages on the pipe, the motor brush. all is fine but today i noticed that the incoming current is ok, but i dont think there is sufficient current going elsewhere such as to the waterpump (only 40v). any ideas?

Checked my error sheets and theres nothing listed for that particular symptom, but 80% of all faults on the washer are down to the motor and pressure switch, so it makes sense to start there - best o'luck.

thankyou very much, i wasnt shoutin, it was just on caps lock to show my anger. lol. ok i will test what you said and see what happens. it was all working fine till the pump went and now its just stuck, is there a common diagnosis for this.

CHRISSAKES WILL YOU STOP SHOUTING, IM NOT DEAF! lol

Some machines test the motor rotation on power up and if this is abnormal they throw a wobbler. Check out the carbon brushes in the motor. Theyre graphite blocks which transfer mains power to the copper segments of the motor. Theyre probably worn down. They're quite cheap parts and easy to replace. Also, look at the copper segments to check for burning or pitting. Also check the pressure switch - a round item about 3 inches across with several wires connected, it sits under the top cover. Its an air operated switch which tells the machine water has reached the correct level. Disconnect the thin rubber pipe from the switch and blow down through it to clear any blockage. Switch itself may be faulty but its more likely the pipe is blocked.
