this morning my hotpoint washing machine was on it just came on without turning it on half way into the wash it went of so i turned it of at the mains for 5 min turned it back on at the mains and it was alright please can you help thanks . steve

Sounds like you may have a problem with the mains filter in the machine - it stops voltage surges in the mains from interfering with the microprocessor programmer. As a quick measure you can buy mains filters at any electrical shop which plug into your wall socket. You then plug the machine into it.
