Hotpoint WD440 leak?

I have a hotpoint WD440 it goes fine until it comes to the rinse and spin and then the water backs up and pushes back up and out from under the detergent tray. Can anybody suggest a possible fault and/or repair?

We had this problem for a few years, water fills the powder tray underneath the draw and starts to run back down the inside of the machine, creating a flood at the bottom left. All I did was Wind the front feet out (10-12mm) to tilt the top of the machine back. This was done about 3 weeks ago and not a drop, having a 1 year old gives it plenty of testing.

Sounds like the water levels too high. Check the pressure switch - a round item about 3 inches across with several wires connected, it sits under the top cover. Its an air operated switch which tells the machine water has reached the correct level. Disconnect the thin rubber pipe from the switch and blow down through it to clear any blockage. Switch itself may be faulty but its more likely the pipe is blocked.
Also check the filter - generally located behind a panel at the foot of the machine. Some are obvious like little square hatches and some are hidden behind the trim panel at the foot of the machine. Once panel is removed the filter will be seen. Its a circular fitting which generally unscrews in an anticlockwise direction.
Some filters are pretty well disguised by the manufacturers which is a big help to their customers and some machines have no filters at all which allows all manner of debris and detritus directly into the pump.
The pump itself may be faulty. its a cheap part, replace it if necessary.

clean sump hose filter out, check and clean out all outlet pipes including pump and the u bend connection point under the sink if washer is not on( A STAND PIPE) (water should have gone before machine attempts to spin off)
