i have a 1998 model # 944-600801 20.5 hp craftsman ride on lawn mower that is an automatic i just put a new drive belt on it because it burnt the other one off and broke it and when i changed it ,it drove fine for about 5 minutes and then burnt that belt off and broke it too tthe belts are a little pricey so i am scared to put another new one on till i find the problem any ideas would be appreciated muchly

One of the belt wheels that guide and tension the belt may have seized solid it will then burn the belt because it is not turning
