Citroen C15 brake adjustment?

The brakes on my 2001 Citroen C15 are rubbish despite new front discs and pads. I think the back brakes are doing most of the work and the adjuster underneath in front of the spare wheel needs tinkering with. Can anyone advise me how to set it up?
Many thanks,
Adam

The great thing about the brakes is that it makes you think rather than just using your foot all the time. Now this save's wear and tear on Your brakes. Also a saving on fuel as any speed over 80km is not advised.

Cant see how spraying the topside of the brake lever will work?? Mine skids wen brake hard and locks up offside wheel.it duz not pull one way wen normal braking but duz slew to left and back end seems to go right, perhaps a bpd has an answer?.q.the nr side has 100 and offside has 200.

hi,just got my third ci5 in12 years.this has the worst brakes ever!had discs, pads & a new caliper fitted today-still cr*p! back brakes need adjusting though, this might make pedal feel harder at least.going to see if compensator needs attention,i run the van light, maybe this doesn't help?good to know i'm not alone!

I've just bought one to help clear and renovate my house for a year. It's not only the brakes, it's the steering too......unless you lucky people have PAS.

I'm going to try bleeding mine with some new brake fluid to see if that helps. Like you say though, great character!

i find always carrying a passenger helps , this way braking is balanced when you both put your foot out the door and scrub your heals to assist the bicycle brakes fitted to these vans !
you either laugh or cry !

ive got a c15 diesel too and the brake warning light's always on and the brakes are so cr*p you almost have to jump on them to stop....i've coasted out into more than a couple of busy junctions cussing at the brakes on this van....but it does have character, i just hope i live long enough to enjoy it!

Im glad I aint the only one. Apparently the adjuster is self leveling or adjusting. Its The master cylinder that is the leaker (not of fluid) but the mechanic who sold me the donkey was assuring me the breaks are at best, crap. Bonus = no skidding + engine breaking. I bought a hays book for the job listed here and my mated say use a lot of wd40 and hammering sockets on, cos citroen don't care about knuckles and flesh in diy jobs... stiff nuts eroded to the plates.
