the heating has stopped working on my 1998 renault 1.6v petrol?

The heating has stopped working on my scenic, the blowers are working, but no heat comes out, any help would be very much appreciated.

(a) Does the 'Header Tank' contain coolant.
(b) Run engine until hot and feel the radiator top hose, is it hot? if cool to the touch first line of action is a faulty thermostat.
