rear window wiper ford fiesta 1997?

can anyone tell me what could be up with my rear window wiper on my ford fiesta 1997 it isnt working. Ive tryed cleaning the contact pins and where the pins meet but no joy. I also tryed chapping the hinge pins 2 or 3 mm becsue i heard thats the earth on the car and again no luck. Could it be the relay??? if so where is this located?. Is there a way i could test the rear wiper motor to see if thats nackered?. Any help would be great thnks

thanks again Nigel. Took panel off inside the boot and found the motor unplugged. plugged it in and tryed it but just getin a buzzing noise. If i use my hand to work the wiper it moves, returns to the bottem of the window and starts buzzing again. I think the motyer must be nackered

Hi James, there is a relay for the wiper it is mounted on the fuse box inside the car, it's relay#2 should be red in colour if you can get access to the motor it should have two wires going to it white/red & violet/blue the white/red is the supply to run the motor and the violet/blue is the wiper park command supply you might find that to run a new wire from one of the motor mounting bolts to the earthing bolt on the hatch might cure the fault
