I was having a problem with the light staying on after I had emptied the bottle. Turns out there is a fault with the original bottles and they now have a modification after mine was replaced under guarantee it worked perfectly. (my drier was purchased in Jan 2009)

Top answers people. I removed the condesner unit and put a tea towel into the resulting hole, turned the dryer on its side and drained out trapped water...(tea towel helped soak the water up)

I took out the water holder, turned the machine upside down and excess water came out which solved the problem. The light turned out and the machine worked again.

First, excuse me for my non-native english. Now...

Not the same model, but I had the same problem. It turned out there was water in the bottom of the dryer. After removing the water container, I could use my relatively long arms to reach down to the foundation at the back of the dryer. There, I felt about a centimeter of water. I used towels and paper to dry it up, and after that it worked just fine.

Turn of electricity/unplug dryer first though:)

My Hover HNC160 Condenser dryer, is acting the same way. Empty water light staying ON. but I have emptyed it!!! so I can't use the machine, as the light is on all the time. I have tryed cleaning and other stuff but no luck. I'm about to try your idea now!

Ensure that the air filter (the part above the water container) is not dirty or clogged and that all the vents are clean. If the filter is staying damp due to it being filled with fluff, this is normally why they say water needs emptying. Also ensure the water container is in properly. Try pulling out the filter and switching the dryer on to check.

My 7kg condenser Hoover is doing exactly the same - usually when I pull out the filter part above the water container or leave it for 10 mins, it starts again, it might be worth you trying this. However, this time for me it won't and it still says empty water! Anyone else got any ideas?
