How do I remove deodorant from shirts?

I know this sounds a bit disgusting, but several of my shirts don't wash properly. There are patches of deodorant left on the under-arm area after washing.

(I'm guessing that deodorant is designed to be water-proof and long lasting so it is a bugger to remove.)

Is there any special way that you can soak, or wash shirts to remove deodorant which has been left behind on the fabric?

If some of your shirts are white, you can soak them in water and bleach, them wash normally. If you have a white mark from deoderant after you put your shirt on, you can rub it out with the material that covers hangers from the dry cleaners.
