How can I stop my siemens kettle leaking?

I have got a Porsche design Siemens kettle and it has started to leak water.
Have you an exploded diagram of how to fix it.

Followed Tony's disassembly instructions. For me the leak was a crack at the base of the plastic where it joined to the metal. I was able to use a soldering iron to carefully melt the plastic and reseal the crack. Easily overdone so be careful.

Tony's method worked like a dream. I just applied a small amount of silicone sealer to both top & bottom joints/seals. The sight glass had small cracks at the bottom (not sure if that was the leak), so I just smeared a small amount of silicone on the cracks & inverted it when fitting it back, so that the cracks are at the top.

Perfect solution.

I thought Annie's advice was the most useful, it really allowed me to repair the kettle in no time, bravo!

Most parts are available direct from Siemens Home Appliances. http://www.siemens-eshop.com or 0844 8928921. They've very helpful and parts usually arrive next day.

Repairing the Siemens kettle.

Stand the kettle upside down. Remove the three screws in the base and remove the plastic kettle base.
Inside there are three springs between the outer aluminium case and the inside assembley. Remove these with sharp nosed pliers.

The inner will now wobble. You now have to pull the aluminium outer upwards from the inner, but also you need to push on the water gauge glass so that it will tuck inside the outer. Press it inwards at it's top and ease the outer up over it.

I guess the leak will be round the lower seal of the water gauge. Clean this up with de scaler if needed. there are two plastic seals, I put a touch of WRc accepted silicon grease on top and bottom of each of these.

Reassemble the kettle making sure the water gauge engages it's slot and test it.

I have the same problem and it is the level view tube on the side, it is a moulded piece which splits on its join.
I found your question whilst looking for a supplier of a replacement part.
