Replaced snapped timing belt, won't start no petrol, is there a safety cut off device?

You should check the valve clearances first with a feeler gauge, not sure what that is for your car, it will be in the haynes manual. If they are ok, then do a check on the compression of each cylinder with a compression gauge, each cylinder should be a similar reading otherwise there is a problem. There is a fuel cut off during an impact, but I doubt if that is the problem, the reset button is under the bonnet, standing in front of the car, look up towards the brake fluid reservoir area, just up from that there is a small black rubbery looking switch (button), that is the reset that you are speaking of. You will know if the fuel pump is working by turning the ignition key to one click before the start position, it will pump for about 2 seconds normally. You will have a better chance of hearing it if you remove the parcel shelf before turning the key, as the pump is in the boot to the front left of the spare wheel well, hope this helps you out, good luck!

how do know you didn't bend any valves or crack any piston s when the belt broke?, SERIOUS DAMAGE DOES OCCURS to engines when TIMING BELTS BREAK due to the closeness of the valve and piston like when the valve should be closing but gets clobbered by the piston especially hydraulic tappets.
