Thanks for the advice Nobby. I just got a used camper and the Thetford C2 Cassette toilet in it would not pump at all. I had no idea that the toilet paper "cup" could come right out. Once I saw the pump under that and the 1 screw you described it was a snap for me to get that pump out. The impeller was almost impossible to turn. After some loosening I got it a bit further but this thing is 17 years old and pretty seized up. I'm going to order a new one from Thetford. Thanks again!

This advice is spot on.

If your toilet does not flush, I recomend that you remove the pump as described, turn it upside down and turn the impellar with a screwdriver until it is freely rotating.
I spent ages stripping the "mechanism" down and it was a waste of time as it was a jammed pump.

It is quite possible that you have a build up of black algae in the tubes to the tank, you can get a liquid tank cleaner, that has to be left in the tank for about 24 hours and itshould disperse the algae
or
You can remove the cover to gain access to the pump, remove the tube from the pump and clean it out, I find a curtain spring is ideal for this type of job, push ther spring down the tube to clear the blockage.

Not allways the case Mark to replace pump if fuses ok. I could be the switch or as I described the pump impeller jammed.
If the impellar is free then check with a tester the cable is live when flush switch pressed if so then Mark is right a new pump.
If it's still not a live cable then it is most likely the switch making the clicking noise but not current contact. If you haven't got one I've a drawing of the old type cassette toilet I will send if you send email to robertwhiting76@hotmail.com

Depending on the model I have an exploded diagram of a Thetford cassette toilet.
First turn on a 12 volt light you can see from the toilet, press the flush switch and watch for the light to dim slightly. if it does then it's most likely the pump impeller has jammed.

if it's the type with the toilet roll holder sunk in the water tank to the right facing the cassette. If so the holder is not fixed it pulls out to reveal the pump in a cage which is held in place by one screw. Undo the screw and pull both cage and pump out. Turn the pump over and check the impeller is free, If not gently turn it until it is with a small screwdriver. drop the pump back in the water and test it.
If it needs new pump don't pull the old wire out just cut the old pump free about 3inches up the cable, pull the suction tube off first. bare the end of the cable and using a small electrical joining block wire the new and old cables together tape up and coat with vaseline to help keep joint dry then put the joint on the back shelf inside the tank. if switch you'll have to contact www.Thetford.com they may be able to give better advice.

What do you mean by a ckick sound, where from and when, if no flush probably the pump/fuse, check the fuses including the one inside the waste tank housing (if there is one on your model) if all ok then probably need a new pump
