how can i fix my henry numatic vacuum cleaner?

i have just replaced the spring contacts on my henry vacuum cleaner and i cant get it to work.
i have checked the contacts lots of times and they seem to be ok.
have i done something wrong?

Have you checked to see if you have the correct polarity? Is the continuity? A full circuit path?
