Treadmill belt sticking when in use?

I recently bought a second hand treadmill and have recently discovered that the belt sticks/jams when I attempt to run on it. I was wondering if I could have some advice as to what I could do to rectify this.

Would I need a new belt? I've done a little research on-line and it seems that there should be a layer of grease, or similar, on the deck and/or the belt that may have dried up as it was in storage prior to my purchase

Which lubricant is advised for belt/deck?

HI YOU WILL PROBABLY BY NOW HAVE LOCATED VARIOUS US WEBSITES THAT SHOW THAT THE BED NEEDS TO BE CLEANED AND LUBRICATED REGULARLY (CLEANED 4 TIMES AND LUBRICATED TWICE A YEAR) I GUESS MUCH OF THIS IS FOR COMMERCIAL USE SO MAYBE NOT SO MUCH IF HOME USE. MY COMPANY HAS DEVELOPED A NEW CONVEYOR BELT FOR TREADMILLS WHICH IS SELF LUBRICATING DUE TO AN IMPREGNATION IN THE FABRIC UNDERSIDE SO THIS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR COMMERCIAL USE SOON. HOPE YOU SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM I GUESS THE MANUAL LUBRICATION IS NOT GOOD AS IT WILL ATTRACT DIRT AND HENCE THE NEED FOR MORE CLEANING.. CHEERS STEVE
