Hotpoint WMA34 upgrade?

Hi

I have heard that the basic washing machines are the same throughout the different Hotpoint models, and that if you change the Control panel PCB and the control fascia panel to one of a higher model in the range you effectively upgrade to this higher model. Is this true and if so how difficult is it to obtain the parts to do it.

Also does anyone know of anywhere on the net that you can download or view the service/repair manuals that the engineers refer to.

Thank you in advance

yep you are correct .in fact you can just change the console panel, the pcb will be the same it just needs recoding to a different model.however....you can only upgrade to a 1400 spin from the model you have as the 1600 is a totally different beast. personally i wouldn't bother

sounds very unlikely........there are so many changes to the production runs even within the same model range you would be likely to hit some sort of snag.
