no hot air?

ive recently bought a vw mk3 gti 2.0i golf j reg, im having trouble getting heat inside the car ive done water flush and the needle used t stay at quarter mark but now it goes half way but the inside of car only luke warm, even with dial on full heat , please help. seller said new water pump and thermastat was installed.

I'm 95% sure your problem is the pollen filter. Replace this and you'll more than likely find your problem is solved. The pollen filter on a mk3 Golf is behind the bulkhead at the top of the engine bay. Pollen filters are not that expensive but often don't get replaced during a service. If you are not confident that you can do this yourself a competent mechanic should only charge you a few pounds as this is a 2 minute job. You will also find that your fan suddenly seems twice as powerful as before as the pollen filter is restricting the air flow. Hope this helps.
