It should be simple but how much of the trim needs to be removed to change the battery, which is tucked under some of the plastic moulding from the windscreen?

took me an hour and 15 mins to change the battery on my daughters 1.4 sxi corsa.had to loosen/ remove plastic windscreen trim.
think Vauxhall must have built the car around the battery.....think they should let their designers try to remove and refit.

Halford declined changing it when I enquired. They've probably learned lessons from previous experiences.

Never go to halfords, they cracked the windowscreen on my brothers 51 plate corsa and blamed my brother.

I can only manage the simplest of car maintenance jobs, but thought that changing the battery on my daughter's 06 Corsa would be a doddle. Wrong! The clue that the job is not simple is in Vauxhall's recommended labour time for the job to be done properly (0.8 hours). This means that the cost of fitting can be more than the cost of the battery itself. If the car will start, I recommend that anyone with limited maintenance skills who is faced with changing a battery on this model of Corsa, takes it to a branch of Halfords (phone first to avoid a wasted journey) where, providing you buy the battery (currently about £60) from them, it will be fitted for just £4.99. I had what I can only describe as excellent service yesterday at the Staines branch where two courteous, patient, and helpful staff had the job done in about 15 minutes. One of them had done the same job on a similar car a few days earlier and, like so many things on cars, it's "easy when you know how".

I don't know the answer, but battery guy cracked the plastic trim on mine last night changing it so be careful...
