Starts fine, battery excellent, after 5 mins or an hour of driving it just cuts out. You cant bump start it, sit with all electrics off it'll restart after 10 mins. (It'll turn over for ever but not start till you leave it alone for 10 mins) Seems to do it more with cd player on or lights or blower; electrical ? Fitted new rotor arm, ht leads, coil etc Help !!!!!

Hi steve.
If it's a 1990 1.6 it'll have the SV 8 valve engine fitted (unless it's had any mods. Been a while since I worked on these, but check the flexible fuel pipe which runs from the driver's side inner wing to the fuel pump. It's a black braided hose and they split allowing air to draw in and preventing fuel being brought to the pump. They tend not to leak fuel back out though. Maybe best replace the pipe anyway.
Other than that, has this fault occured only since the cold weather ?? Check and make sure the hot air flap is working in the airfilter housing trunk and that the heat shield, ducting and pipe are correctly fitted to the exhaust manifold. If not the carb intake will freeze up and stop the engine.
