A can of Rust Check is an excellent penetrating oil and it's a water displacer as well as a salt neutralizer.

I just fixed it by :
1. soaking the remains of the plug with penetrating oil for a couple of days
2. heating the remains of the plug with a blow torch
3. letting it cool then tapping an allen key into the hole with a hammer (the ceramic centre had already blown out when I moved the car)
4 . twisting the allen key with a wrench
5. using a magnetic screwdriver to pick up any metal bits from in and around the chamber
6. using a vacuum cleaner with a small tube attached to it to suck any remaining bits out of the chamber

hope this helps.

wd40 is good but have found over the years tha a can of what they call PB Blaster is the best to use ....if base of plug is still there after you let it soak try tighten the plug a little to get it to move and then loosen
if you get it to turn even a little bit keep turning clockwise and then counter clock wise ...........if it breaks off there is a tap kit you can buy from parts store to retap it and if all fails you`ll have to install a heli coil ..good luck

Hi1

Try using a lot of WD 40, let it soak and use your regular tool!

Good luck!
