Old shape citroen xsara cam belt change?

How do you align the crank pulley on the 1.9 turbo diesel engine? the cam pulley and deisel pump are aligned with pins but no holes or marks can be found on the bottom pulley. help. I froze the engine ( no anti freeze ) and snapped the belt when i tried to start it. so I couldnt even mark the pulley before I took the belt off. Thanx.

there is a 8mm hole behind starter motor i remove starter and move flywheel with screw driver like a pry bar movement beware as the clucth pressure plate bolts holes go right through the fly wheel and i have seen mechanics at some garages i worked use these holes which feels like a location for timing pin but are false the true hole will lock the pin tight in both directions with starter out you can move the fly wheel whilst looking at pin an little moves when pin is locked it will rock up and down.good luck

No marks on the bottom pulley - you are supposed to insert a pin that locks the flywheel - it passes through a hole in the starter motor area and passes into a drilling on the flywheel.
