Problems with electrics?

I was driving along (Hyundai Coupe) with almost every electrical item on my car going, including fog lights, when the radio cut out, both headlights blew and both my ABS and Airbag lights came on. The car drives, although I haven't taken it for more than a run around the block, and the dashboard lights fade in and out. - What the heck could be the cause?

The voltage regulator and/or rectifiers inside your alternator failed.

The voltage regulator is built into the alternator and is not a seperate part. You need a new alternator. There may be other damaged parts if your headlights actually burned out from over-voltage.
