How can i fix a leak on my Aquarius 11oo wm63?

Thanks for the "tip" of the bike repair kit.....but i think i will have to replace the seal with a new one. Anyone out there with straight forward instuctions on how to do it.....please, as i use my machine every day and dont want to keep flooding the kitchen.....
Thanks again

Hi, Janet. I take it you're referring to the rubber seal between the front of your machine and the drum. It's held onto the drum by a huge jubilee clip, like the things on hoses on car engines. It's a pig of a job to fit it, even when the machine's dismantled, which you have to do. The front has to come away, which means taking the top panel off with the controls on. When you've done all this, the old seal feeds backwards through the front of the machine and the new one goes in backwards. Then you've got the job of getting it seated properly and attaching the jubilee clip round it while holding the front upright. I had three attempts at mine before I got it seated properly without leaks. Much as I hate to say it, it is definitely a job that you should entrust to an engineer unless you're confident of taking the thing apart. Wires have to be disconnected (IF YOU DO ATTEMPT IT, MAKE SURE IT'S UNPLUGGED FIRST!!). To put the seal in place, you really need two pairs of hands and a great deal of patience. Any attempt to patch it is really a waste of time due to the hot water. Get some quotes first as prices vary considerably between engineers. Watch him do it and you'll see why I suggested not to attempt it yourself!! Best of luck!!
