whats wrong with my cars central locking?

I have a 1999 ford focus and of late my central locking has gone mad. If i use the remote to lock it the motors on the rear doors and passenger door lock and unlock instantly and the drivers door does not lock . so the only way i can lock it is by locking the passenger door from the inside and locking the other doors from the drivers door outside.

Hi Mike. can you tell me if the drivers side locks and unlocks when you use the remote? I suggest it probably doesn't, If that's the case then you have a fault with the locking motor/solenoid on the drivers door. If you were to use the key in the drivers door to lock the vehicle, do all the other doors lock OK as well? Again if they do then the fault is the drivers door because you are mechanically moving the motor/ solenoid with the key. What the lock unlock is telling you is it thinks there is a door open and will not lock because of that signal. Lock the car from the passenger side with the key and watch the drivers door inner lock handle, if the drivers door is faulty it will not move the inner handle drivers door side. Hope that makes sense!!
