faye, February 2008
I have a leak on my renault clio 1.2 POWER ASSISTED 1999 (T) steering rack.
The gaiter on the side effected is mangled, could this bee the leak?
Everything above the leak is dry including the pipes

you need to remove the track end on the affected side (balljoint splitter will be needed ) when balljoint is free hold securely while you undo the lock nut, with the locknut UNDONE hold the trackrod shaft securely.
Count the number of turns to remove the track rod end ((MAY BE LEFT HAND THREAD)) ACCURATELY cut the ratchet ties holding the gaiter remove, slide new gaiter into position reattach the track rod end reattach to the wheel hub attach a locknut and cotter pin if one was fitted tighten the track rod locknut attach ratchet ties to hold the gaiter
have the car re-tracked
