Help required with my 4 year old home security Veritas system?

Zone 3 (lounge) is triggered every other morning at around 5 o'clock. It's only started to happened recently and it's always zone 3 and as i'm downstair in a flash I can find no evidence of spiders, nor is it windy, no pets etc. I've consulted an alarm engineer who suggested it may be a 'strong radio signal' that a neighbour is powering up however, there's no sign of any huge aerials nearbyand why would it effect just my alarm?

Cheers for that. Without sounding a numbnut, how do I change a PIR - do they simply click on and off ?

Hi Andy
Try changing PIR , this could be swapped for another in the house , if problem moves , renew , if problem presists in lounge , try a mains filter and 12v suppressor , does sound like mains induced problem.
have you any thing in the house that comes on at 5

Hi Andy,
If your system is affected by rf signals then there are a couple of ways you can get around it
1. You can replace the cable with screened cable , this will reduce external interference.
2. Resite the Pir so that the cable is either lengthened or shortend, this will alter the frequency at which the external interference is operating.

Hope this helps
