Error 5?

I have a Hoover 1400 AAA Whisper and an error 5 has appeared.I need to know what the fault is and a fix please.

Found wire to Thermistor had been chaffing on the pully belt and had worn through giving the same problem ERROR code 5.
Joined the wires together again and taped back out of the way and Hey Presto all fixed.
