when does the cam belt need replacing on my renault traffic swb 2004?

Could you tell me whether the cam belt needs changing at 70 or 80 thousand miles on my renault traffic sl27 swb van, as I have been told two different bits of info.
Thanks, Dawn

As a matter of course i always change a timing belt and tentioner at 60,000 or 3 years. car or van. timing belts have a hard life, and if they break the damage is far more expensive than a belt and tentioner.

Cars are 72,000 or 5 years. Vans as far as i no are 5 years or 90,000 miles. Thats what i've been told, i have a traffic Lwb 2005 engine code F9Q 760 100Bhp.

Ps: Im going to change mine at about 65,000 - 70,000 as 90,000 seem to high and if the belt breaks thats the end of the engine.

Hope this helps you out.
