How do I replace my gear nob?

I do not know if or how I can get the gear nob off a Vauhall vectra sri cdti estate on a 54 plate.
Does it un screw? due to the fact that it is a lift up type(for reverse) can it be replaced

Hi Paul, yes it unscrews anti-clockwise from a birds eye view, they are normally quite tight though.
