how can i calibrate an automatic watch?

my Seiko automatic watch (17 jewel) runs too fast - can i calibrate it myself? if so, How?

just open watch back cover and adjust + or - sign leaver at desired position just like adjusting fan regulator,but u must need some technicl knowledge and tools,and dust proof environment.

Thanks for your answer - i was afraid of that - my watch cost £35 to buy and will cost about that much (or more) to get it serviced.

Unless your watch is brand new--a mechanical watch that is running too fast means that it is time for you to have the mechanism cleaned and oiled.
If you don't have this done, parts can start to wear-out.
A mechanical watch is any watch that does not run on batteries.
