How do I get a drive belt back on the hotpoint first edn. washing machine?

The drive belt (5 rib) has came off the pulley on my hotpoint first Edition washing machine. I have removed the metal section at the back of the machine (at the bottom). I can manage to get the belt over the drum section but cannot seem to pull it over the pulley on the motor. Can you tell me how this can be done. We live in Australia (melbourne) and brought the machine over from England with us. I do not think that they sell this machine here.

Put the belt around the motor first, then feed it onto the pulley with your hand. Mind your fingers. If the belt comes off again, you'll probably have bearing or shaft problems.
