Briggs & Stratton Sprint 375 engine hunts on my Hayter Hawk Lawnmower.
It was fine last season. Petrol is fresh. Air filter has been cleaned (hunts with filter off as well)
Does it puff black smoke? If so may need new carb gasket

CHECK SMALL SPRING THAT IS WRAPED AROUND GOVERNER ROD FROM THROTTLE CABLE ARM GOING TO THROTTLE ARM ON CARB. POSSIBLY BROKE OR LOOSE ON ONE END. IT KEEPS THE SLACK OUT OF THE LINKAGE, STRECH IT AND REHOOK.
