How can I have low N Gas pressure?

Hi All
The corgi installer tells me that my new condensing combi boiler has very low DHW temp because the burner pressure is only 3 mbar at the boiler with burners on BUT 20.7 mbar when the boiler burner is off, I have seen it he has shown me, but how can this be ? I can only think that the fault lies with the gas supply coming into the house but that is a 3/4 feed.
Regards
Dave

If you have any more problems with your boiler I would not call the same engineer again, he left you with a potentially dangerous situation, if he really knew what he was doing he would have turned your gas off and called transco for you .

Transco been this morning and changed the valve on top of the meter, everything is great now....thank for your help and information.

hi Dave, if you call transco they will be with you within about 2 hours and then you will have your hot water back on.
There is no charge for this service.

Thanks Garry, he is coming back first thing in the morning, so I have turned gas off at the tap at the side of the meter. I will ring transco after speaking to corgi man in the morning.

Hi Dave, you need to turn everything off and contact transco on 0800111999, inform them that you have a fault on the guvenor, they will most likely just change it and you should have plenty of hot water again.
I don't know why your engineer did not do this at the time as there is the chance of it being dangerous especially if you have a gas cooker or fire with no flame failure device on it.

Hi Gary
Its dropping to 3 mb at the boiler and 3.2 at the meter.
From meter to boiler is 3.5 meters in distance

Is this dropping to 3mb at the boiler or the gas meter.
If it is at the meter then you need to call transco straight away, your engineer should have made safe and done this for you?
If the meter is ok but it is dropping at the boiler, then it is either a restriction in the supply or the pipe size needs to be increased to 28mm. How far is the boiler from the gas meter.
