Asko Asea 1502 Dishwasher?

On pushing the start button, several of the lights flash, but the machine doesn't operate. Any ideas?

Have had a couple of wires break in the harness leading down the door right where the door hinges. Can't remember if the lights blinked or it just didn't work.
