where is the 10 pin aldl test plug on a frontera?

the ecu light is on and my 1996 2.2 frontera will not start i have tried reseting the ecu by removingthe battery for a while (over night 12hrs) and it still wont start have just learned you can short the aldl test plug out and get a fault code on the dash but cant find the the plug any where and the haynes manual got nothing in it about the plug can any any help or give use a clue so i can get my car started thanks

the ten pin plug is for the upto 96 models and it is located near the drivers side head light and you short pins A&B

Hi Melvin, the connector is located to the right of the steering column, but my book shows it as a 16 pin eobd plug, but if you short pin6 to earth the fault light will flash in code which relates to the fault but some models this will not work and reqiures a diagnostic reader, if you contact me on nige110162@hotmail.co.uk I will mail you the fault code meanings
