small engine?

I have a tecumseh engine which has no spark. I have been told that I should check the egnition module but don't know how do go about this. Could you give me the details on how to make this check.

The coil pack is bolted onto the engine, in very close proximity to the flywheel. Unbolt it, and check with a multimeter its resistance between the HT lead (thick one) and LT lead (thin one - you should get a high resistance. Then check for continuity between the LT lead and the coil body - look for a much lower resistance. Failing these tests, substitution for a known good one is really the only way to go.
