I have been having problems with my car for about a little over a year now. It is so expensive to get someone else to fix so I want to do it myself. I am having problems with my car changing gears it will just go into drive only. I would like to know what is causing this and what should I get for it to be fixed.

Some trans use a modulator for shifting ..that works off of vacum that is on the side of trans
some use a detent cable that is worked by the throttle cable
Could possably be a internal trans problem also
