I have a Nokia 6680 on O2 this phone is not reading the simcard that is in correctly and screen displays that the phone is offline and if I try anything else it says insert sim
you have a faulty sim card reader.
Try to polish the contact with an earbud, or a typist eraser.
if that doesn't work then you need to replace it.
I wouldn't suggest you to attempt it as the procedure is really delicate. Your local phone repair guy should do it.

I have tried that quite a few times but will not change from offline.
When I do go to general it tells me to insert sim card

If you press the ON/OFF button quickly, you'll see the profiles, select 'General' and your problem should be solved.
