tappets noise on corsa sxi 1.2?

How do i adjust the tappets one by one because it is very noisey
keble ritchie, March 2008
only way to completely get rid of rattle is to replace tappets check cams and replace chain and oil pump.did this about 9 months ago and difference was amazing.friends said it wasnt worth doing as car was too old rubbish.change oil every 6 months along with filter and car will serve you well.

its a well known fault on the corsa engine if you engine is a late one ie chain driven cam have the chain cover off and in spect the chain for slack they suffer from chain strech and tensioner wear from around 50000 mile usually .. dont bother with the wyns flush its rubbish id use a brand call forte if it is a sticky lifter then this stuff will cure it .. goodluck

If you can find a cam belt on my Corsa 1.2 sxi you can have the car.

Tommy Tuck, July 2009
Good reply Nigel but i think the 1.2 Corsa is chain driven not cambelt.

Bruce Kain, June 2009
the tappets are hydraulic on your engine and are self adjusting if they are making a noise one or more of them have become stuck, the first a cheapest method is to put some oil flush (wynns £6 from halfords) run it through and then change the engine oil, if this does'nt free them off then you will have to replace them, that involves removing the camshaft and while you have it stripped down that far you should also replace the cambelt
